QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• An MBA or advanced degree in a related field is a plus.

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in product development, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully launching new products in a [specific industry, e.g., medical, technology, consumer goods, etc.].
• Experience working in cross-functional teams to drive product development and innovation.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Development Manager to lead and manage the development of new products, from conceptualization through to launch. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to deliver products that meet customer needs, exceed market expectations, and align with business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Product Development Leadership:

Lead the product development process, from idea generation and concept design to prototype testing and final product launch.

Define product specifications, features, and functionality based on customer requirements, market research, and business goals.

Manage the product roadmap, ensuring that development milestones and timelines are met.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, engineering, design, and marketing, to ensure alignment on product features, design, and production capabilities.

Work closely with sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and market trends, ensuring products meet customer expectations.

Facilitate communication between teams to ensure smooth product development and timely delivery.

Market Research & Analysis:

Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor products.

Analyze market data and consumer feedback to guide product strategy and decisions.

Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging technologies to inform product innovation.

Product Strategy & Planning:

Develop and execute product strategies that align with the company’s overall vision and market opportunities.

Lead the creation and execution of product plans, including pricing, positioning, and launch strategies.

Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product success and iterate as needed.

Project Management:

Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that product development projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Manage risks, issues, and challenges throughout the product development process, making adjustments to plans as necessary.

Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of product development projects.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure that products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Conduct rigorous testing and validation of prototypes, and collaborate with QA teams to resolve any issues.

Monitor product performance post-launch and recommend improvements based on feedback and market performance.

Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor a team of product developers, providing guidance, support, and career development opportunities.
