QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control in a relevant industry (e.g., manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food, medical devices).
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing a QA & QC team.
  • Strong experience with quality management systems (QMS), regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO, GMP), and auditing processes.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Head of Department - QA & QC to lead and oversee the quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) functions of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management systems, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage a team to ensure that our products and services consistently meet the highest standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage the QA & QC team, setting performance expectations and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Establish and oversee departmental goals, objectives, and processes to ensure the achievement of overall company quality targets.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance on career development and training needs.

Quality Assurance Strategy:

Develop, implement, and maintain effective QA processes and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and customer expectations.

Oversee the planning and execution of internal and external audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Collaborate with other departments, including production, R&D, and engineering, to resolve quality-related issues and improve overall product quality.

Quality Control Operations:

Oversee the QC processes, ensuring all products are tested and inspected according to established specifications and standards.

Monitor testing procedures, data analysis, and product evaluations to ensure the highest level of quality and consistency in the final product.

Ensure the timely release of products that meet regulatory standards and specifications.

Regulatory Compliance and Standards:

Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international quality regulations and standards (ISO, GMP, etc.).

Continuous Improvement:

Identify areas for process improvements, cost reductions, and operational efficiency within the QA & QC departments.

Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and practices to enhance quality assurance and control processes.

Lead root cause analysis for quality issues and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare and present regular reports on quality performance, trends, and improvement initiatives to senior management.

Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of QA & QC activities, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
